Saint Athanasius is located 30 km from the city of Edessa and within walking distance from the ski resort of Mt Kaimaktsalan.
The village is built from the late of the 16th century at the foot of the mountain. Here, you will find the charming old village of Agios Athanasios which is built at an altitude of 1200 m. abandoned once, it declared as tenable by the Ministry of Culture, and now is ready to delight the visitors.
